Reasons for Choosing Proprium for My Internship

During my university education, I missed the integration of practical knowledge with theoretical learning. Although I began acquiring practical skills when I enrolled in the Marketing program at my university, these skills were mostly developed through team projects based on specific scenarios. However, we were not exposed to new trends, digital tools, or real-life situations.

This gap led me to enroll in the "Professional Practice Through Work" course, which allowed me to experience the real-world workings of marketing and its associated activities. I believe that this professional practice would aid my professional development and future career.

My goals for taking this course were to gain practical experience in a real environment, develop communication and organizational skills, manage projects, and become familiar with company work processes. These criteria guided my choice of the company for my internship.

When it came time to select a company for my internship, I was drawn to Proprium for several reasons. First, the company's reputation for fostering a dynamic and innovative work environment was highly appealing. I wanted an experience that would challenge me, allow me to grow, and expose me to a wide range of skills and knowledge. Proprium LLC is a micro-enterprise operating as a B2B consulting agency. In Proprium, they are focused on computer consulting offering individual software consulting and implementation services.

They work with various programs such as ClickUp, SmartSuite, HubSpot, Google Workspace, Slack, and Microsoft Office. Over the years, they have collaborated with consultants, trainers, designers, marketing agencies, and various service experts.

Proprium's mission is to empower entrepreneurs for lasting success through tailored tools and strategies, envisioning empowered companies overcoming challenges with custom solutions. The company values adaptability, individual approach, enthusiasm, and results orientation.

The company has a structured internal organization with three management levels and several departments, including Leadership and Strategy, Business Development, Collaboration, Implementation, Client Solutions, Finance, Administration, Human Resources, and Marketing. My Proprium Internship Experience

In my internship program, I performed administrative tasks, project implementation tasks for an external client, and marketing tasks, all with the guidance of a mentor and in the way of assisting and assisting in the work on these tasks. The professional practice program was created by the practice mentor in the company in this way to get to know the company in more detail and to learn about the company's services, business culture, and way of working with other teams. Professional practice was carried out as work from home with a daily Zoom meeting and receiving new tasks from the mentor.

My responsibilities varied, allowing me to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company's operations and its strategic objectives. I worked closely with experienced professionals who were generous with their time and knowledge, mentoring me and providing valuable feedback. The tasks I worked on required knowledge of basic tools, organizational skills, and following the mentor’s instructions. The majority of my work focused on marketing.

I maintained and updated company websites in WordPress and Kajabi, researched these platforms, and ultimately helped recreate the website in Kajabi. This required analytical and research skills, an understanding of marketing basics, and report-writing abilities.

A typical working day at Proprium starts with a Zoom meeting where we discuss our goals for the day and any challenges we anticipate. My tasks for the day might include data analysis, preparing reports, or working on a project with a tight deadline. The tasks in the administrative part were repetitive and were repeated daily, while tasks for an external client or marketing tasks were performed for several days, after which a report was submitted. The remaining part of the working day was related to the performance of assigned tasks. Business communication with the practice mentor in the company took place via e-mail, Zoom meetings, and the company's communication channels (within ClickUp for certain tasks and via Google Chat).

During my internship, a significant portion of my work involved participating in an internal project to migrate the company's website from WordPress to Kajabi. Key tasks included transferring website content from WordPress to SmartSuite to maintain comprehensive documentation and subsequently migrating this data to Kajabi. I conducted research and compared WordPress and Kajabi through competitor analysis and SWOT assessments.

Additionally, I wrote reports based on this research and crafted copy for the website to inform clients about the software used and as blog posts. The work was diverse and engaging, keeping me motivated and eager to learn. Throughout the day, there are opportunities for informal catch-ups with colleagues and mentors, which provide additional learning experiences and help build strong professional relationships.

Benefits of the Internship for Personal and Professional Growth

Through professional practice, I gained a lot of useful knowledge and skills in performing various jobs, and the professional practice program enabled me to get to know the company, its services, business culture, and ways of working in different teams in detail. During professional practice, the theoretical knowledge acquired in the university proved to be very useful. For example, understanding the basics of marketing and market research was essential when working on marketing assignments and competitor analysis.

On the other hand, the practical experience gained during the internship enabled me to better understand and apply the theoretical concepts from my studies. For example, working on projects for external clients and implementing new systems within the company helped me gain a deeper understanding of how theoretical project management methods work in a real business environment. 

Also, the experience of working with different software such as ClickUp, SmartSuite, and Kajabi gave me a better understanding of the technological aspects of business, which will be of great benefit to me in my future studies and/or career. The practical experience allowed me to deepen my theoretical knowledge in digital marketing, market research, and content creation.

In conclusion, I have grown more confident in my abilities and more comfortable in a professional environment. The experience has taught me the importance of effective communication, time management, and teamwork. Professionally, I have gained a wealth of knowledge about the industry and developed practical skills that are directly applicable to my future career.

During my time at Proprium, I developed a range of skills that will be invaluable in my future career. I improved my analytical skills through various data-driven projects, enhancing my ability to interpret complex information and make informed decisions. My communication skills improved significantly, as I regularly presented my findings to the mentor.
